It is suggested by the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection that all Hong Kong children who are aged 6 months to less than 6 years should receive the seasonal influenza vaccination. The Childhood Influenza Vaccination Subsidy Scheme is implemented to encourage Hong Kong children to get vaccinated by giving a $130 Government subsidy per dose of seasonal influenza vaccination received from private doctors.

It takes about 2 weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body. Parents should bring their children to private clinics to get vaccinated early to ensure sufficient protection.
